This special Laguiole style knife has an engraved back in addition to the famous "Napoleonic bee"., of course.  This one has the inlaid "shepherd's cross' and the handles are Exotic Finnish Birch root.. This wood is beautiful nicely marked with grain and individual character. Expertly made by the La Coutellerie Au Sabot company in the Auvergne region of France who's family has been making fine cutlery since 1870. Premium quality in the French cutlery tradition in the Laguiole style. The Sauzedde family still operates this unique company.
