From the Alpine region of France comes L'Apin Savoie This one is made with a Genuine Olive wood handle. Carved into the handle and hand painted is the famous and beautiful "Cross of Savoie" . This distinctive cross is from heraldry in the mountain area of Eastern France near Italy and Switzerland. These are expertly made by the La Coutellerie Au Sabot company in the Auvergne region of France who's family has been making fine cutlery since 1870. Mr. Jean Sauzedde is the patriarch of the family and still working at over 80! His daughter, Frederique is the commercial manager. (see photo)
