This special French has a stainless steel blade and is finely engraved on the back of the spring. This is the famous Laguiole style with a very ornate "bee" on the back along . This "bee" was originally part of the Emperor Napoleon's family crest and the people of this area were granted the right to use it on their products due to their bravery in battle. This one is presented with a genuine Finland Birch Wood handle. The wood is beautiful with very interesting grain and is a favorite for top end knives in Europe.
The knife is presented in a beautiful wood display box with it's own "fusil" or mini sharpening steel.
This is truly a nice gift and represents the art of the French cutlery tradition.
Expertly made by the La Coutellerie Au Sabot company in the Auvergne region of France who's family has been making fine cutlery since 1870. Use these as a wine knives or in the gentleman's pocket. You will find them strong, premium quality in the French cutlery tradition. .
