French made 3 1/2" folding blade in 12C27, high carbon stainless steel in the modern, sleek, "Le Theirs" style. This is a French 2 piece meaning it has a cork screw (tire bouchon). Made by Guild member Francois Vachon. These knives have a real classy look.. This one is presented in beautiful Black and White Natural Horn that is very highly polished and very traditional. This beautiful knife comes with a black leather sheath (Etui). (Some people call this style a French Hunting Knife although the style is popular with non hunters. This is a strong and robust knife designed for use). Francois is a second generation cutler in the Thiers area and a member of the "Le Thiers" Guild. "LeThiers" Guild members are tested and certified for quality of product and integrity of materials and methods. Only the best of the best earn membership in the Guild and the right to use the protected "Le Thiers" mark on products in all the world.. Tracing its origin back to 1582 when French King Henry III established "The Coute de Tie Guild" for control of quality of French cutlery, this is a very exclusive group. Master Guild Blade Company is proud to bring you the products from several of these special cutlers. We had the privilege of working with Francois one day and he "helped us" finish our own blade.
